Years ago, I had the opportunity to spend two months living in Xi’an, the ancient capital of China, with a wonderful host family. Landing back home, I simultaneously landed myself a reputation. Amongst family and friends, I was known for beginning with ‘when I was in China’ every time I opened my mouth to speak. The very same thing happened after I lived in Aix-en-Provence and London. I just can’t help myself; I want everyone else to be as excited and fascinated by the world as I am.
I have always been deeply curious about the world and its people, earning my degree in anthropology and women’s and gender studies from Syracuse University before joining Black Tomato. As a Client Relations Executive, I have the privilege of speaking to our travelers when they return from their journeys, hearing their stories and helping them decide where they wish to explore next. I am constantly inspired by our client’s endless sense of adventure. With every conversation my bucket list only gets longer. And longer.
'Hiking around the breath-taking lake'
A closer look at SloveniaI traveled to Slovenia as part of a 9-day solo trip through central Europe I did while studying abroad in France when I was nineteen. My plan for the entire trip was to show up and see what happens, so while staying in Ljubljana I took the bus to Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj. Along the way, I made friends with two fellow solo travelers, one from Portugal and one from Australia, and we chatted about our lives and travel experiences while hiking around the breath-taking lake.
The next day I was set to fly back to Paris for the rest of the semester. On the way my taxi driver asked what airline I was flying. As it turned out, the airline I was booked on had gone bankrupt a few months before and I hadn’t been made aware – if only I’d been traveling with Black Tomato!
