It’s for those tiny moments in a strange new place that at the time feel ordinary, but when you look back? You realize how lots of these experiences – together – shape who you are. That’s why I travel.
I’m fortunate to have explored lots of hidden places in Europe, but I have since my sights set on everywhere. I’d love as many of these little moments I’m allowed in as many places as possible.
With the help of our ever-curious team, it’s my job to help inspire our existing clients. To showcase the world – with a dash of storytelling – and create those all-important pre-travel guides. When I’m away from my desk, I’m often found guitar in hand doing my best to channel the sound of Jeff Buckley. I’m still working on it.
'I couldn't pass up more cheese'
A closer look at ItalyThe town was called Monselice in Italy. Nine of us – all of whom I’d met only two days ago – were sat outside an old trattoria on Piazza Mazzini. In broken Italian, I ordered a spaghetti carbonara. The dish arrived shortly with one simple question: “Vuoi più formaggio?”. I couldn’t pass up more cheese. But after that? It’s a blur. All I remember is that I was eating the best carbonara I’ve ever tasted.
