Elies Resorts, Sifnos
Built into the hillside overlooking Vathi Bay on the serene south coast of Sifnos, Elies Resorts is seriously idyllic. Balancing classic Cycladic architecture with minimalist modern touches, it’s a beautiful place to completely unwind on one of Greece’s smaller, quieter islands. Plus, it’s perfectly positioned to get the Aegean sun all day long. We couldn’t ask for more.
Location
From Athens’ Piraeus port, you can take either a ferry or high-speed catamaran into Sifnos’ Kamares port – with journey times between 2.5-5 hours, depending on which vessel you choose. From there, Elies Resorts is a short 25-minute drive. Alternatively, you can arrive in style by helicopter, thanks to Sifnos’ own fully-functional heliport – located just 15 minutes from the hotel. Once you’re settled in, you’ll be ideally located on one of the island’s four sandy beaches, with the traditional tavernas of Vathi village just a short walk away.
Your Room
The rooms at Elies are bright and beautiful – with a combination of classic and contemporary art hanging on clean, whitewashed walls. Rooms have private terraces with views over the property’s carefully tended gardens, or out across the glittering Aegean Sea. Should you wish to should you wish to rest up in total seclusion, we’d stay in one of the private pool villas. They’re like a dream.
Why We Like It
Beyond reclining in complete bliss on your sun lounger, there’s a lot to love about Elies – including its excellent restaurant, which makes the most of fresh, high-quality local produce. Sifnos has earned a reputation as the culinary capital of the Greek Islands – and here, you’ll find out why.
