Hotel Milka, Slovenia
Hotel Milka is a boutique hideaway perched on the shores of Jasna Lake. Overlooking the Julian Alps and boasting an in-house private Finnish sauna for two, you’ll find relaxation easy. After dining on alpine-inspired dishes at the hotel’s restaurant and drinking in the views from your balcony, private garden, or hot tub, you’ll set off on your very own alpine adventure.
LOCATION
Set against a mesmerising backdrop of Jasna Lake and the Julian Alps beyond, Hotel Milka is located beside one of the most breathtaking alpine lakes in Slovenia. Just a short 50-minute drive from Ljubljana, Slovenia’s pastel-coloured capital, you’ll head northwest towards Kranjska Gora, watching as the peaks of Razor and Prisank rise in the distance.
YOUR ROOM
Decorated with Slovenian limestone and oak wood furnishings, each of Hotel Milka’s six rooms radiate minimalist design and alpine charm. With spacious terraces, private gardens, tucked away reading nooks, and an outdoor hot tub (we’d recommend the Garden Suite), the hotel’s variety of rooms offer plenty of ways to soak up the views of Jasna Lake and Triglav National Park.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Here, everything is inspired by the dazzling alpine surroundings. Whether that’s the gourmet dishes prepared with fresh local ingredients at Milka restaurant or the hotel’s minimalist (yet cozy) interior design. Due to its location, you’ll also be perfectly placed to explore the Julian Alps; cycling through Soča Valley, taking a dip in the blue glacial waters of Jasna Lake. Then there’s ice climbing, skiing, and snowshoeing. Take your pick.
SUSTAINABILITY
At Hotel Milka, guests’ slippers are made from recycled plastic bottles and the hotel’s crockery is crafted by local Slovenian artisans. With a regional restaurant menu, many of its ingredients are sourced from local farmers and producers. The hotel also aims to minimize the use of plastics wherever possible.
