Edith Wharton travelled to Morocco in 1917, seeking an escape from war-torn Europe. What she stumbled upon was ‘a land of mist and mysteries’; a country ‘too curious, too beautiful, too rich in landscape and architecture’ not to explore. Today, those with a similarly adventurous appetite will find Morocco sates it incredibly quickly. Somewhere between the labyrinthine souks of Marrakech and the top of mighty Toubkal.

Seven days in this intoxicating land and you won’t just scratch the surface. You’ll dig right beneath it. From the fascinating chaos of Marrakech to the utter quiet of the Agafay Desert and Atlas Mountains. Morocco will greet you with the warmest hospitality. And a fragrant cup of mint tea.
In the shadow of the Koutoubia Mosque, step into a La Villa des Orangers – an enchanting riad in the heart of Marrakech. Where the citrus scent of orange blossom lingers, and peaceful tiled courtyards provide the perfect antidote to bustling souks. Time has a beautiful way of standing still here.
Exploring on foot is all well and good. But when it comes to Marrakech – built around its hectic medinas, historic mosques, intricate palaces and gardens – a vintage sidecar is really the way to do it. Your guide will take you through the city’s maze-like alleys from a local’s perspective, as you come across the snake charmers that frame Jemaa el Fna and busy market merchants at every turn. An afternoon straight out of a movie.
For one magical night, you’ll swap hotels for something a little different. Welcome to your own luxury camp in the mesmerising swathes of the Agafay Desert. Equipped with cosy beds, blankets, and bathrooms – you’ll find every private comfort. Naturally, you’ll tour camp upon arrival on the back of a camel. How else?
We’ve never been to the moon. But if we had, we’re sure it would look a lot like the Agafay. Dusty, arid, and untouched. Exactly the sort of landscape that’d be cool to blaze across in a high-powered desert buggy. So, buckle up.
Perched high in the Atlas Mountains, we’ll put you up at Kasbah Tamadot – where it’s warm, traditional, and sumptuously luxurious. Its name is Berber for ‘soft breeze’, which tells you all you need to know. Fresh air of the foothills, breath-taking panoramas.
Scattered with Berber villages and winding trails, the Atlas Mountains are said to be the body of the Titan Atlas – turned to stone, condemned to uphold the sky for eternity. We’ll take you on a trek from the base of Jebel Toubkal – Africa’s tallest peak north of the equator – to a small local village. There, you’ll enjoy a tajine lunch with the locals. Aromatic, authentic, slow-cooked. That have-another-bowl kind of delicious.
A private candlelit dinner in the Agafay Desert, set up beneath a star-scattered sky. Beautiful and delicious in equal measure.
